Scandinavian Photo Challenge by Nikon

Scandinavian Photo Challenge by Nikon, one of the most exiting photo contests in the bike world returns for its second edition, July 2-10th this summer, held during the annual Åre Bike Festival in Åre, Sweden – Northern Europe’s premier bike resort. Well-known all over the world for it’s lift accessed bike park with over 30 maintained and marked trails in a beautiful mountain setting, Åre is a world class location for stunning bike imagery.

To make full use of Åre’s full potential and amazing Nordic sceneries, the sophomore event will see an increased focus on all mountain and cross country riding to complement the downhill and freeride disciplines.

Hosted by hometown ace photographer, Mattias Fredriksson, five teams of individually invited photographers will get three days to shoot and two days to create a five-minute slide show with their own team of world-class riders.

Åre’s epic northern light and never-setting midnight sun makes for some truly amazing images. The teams efforts will be judged by a professional jury at the closing party on Saturday night with 2 500 Euros in cash prizes.

Last years event made a big impact in the bike media world wide with a sleeve of feature stories in several of Europe’s major bike publications and websites. Features and photo stories have been published in Dirt (UK), Terrengsykkel (Norway), Pedal (Sweden), Freeride (Germany), Big Bike (France) and Magasin Åre (Sweden). The slide shows can be watched over at the Mpora video site: http://dirt.mpora.com/news/scandinavian-photo-challenge-slideshows.html
